The Greatest Love Story

I've always been a little intrigued by the love story of 'Edward and Mrs Simpson' but must confess to only ever really knowing the basics.

Having, only this morning watched a trailer for the soon to be released W.E........................

I must say, I am very much looking forward to this, not being a great cinema goer with it generally taking something pretty awesome to get me there, I think this could be one of those films.

I also came scross this book.........................

the biography of 'Wallis Simpson' and very quickly added it to my wishlist.

A subject, as I said that has intrigued Me for so long, now I may actually learn something about what some say is 'The Greatest Love Story' of our time!

I love the story of Edward and Mrs Simpson and have seen and read so much about them. I love anything to do with that dynasty as they were all rotten and had a story to tell - my fav being Edward's poor, poor brother who was disowned because he had learning difficulties and would 'look bad' for the family. He was brought up by a lady he called laalaa (sound familiar?)and, thankfully, she loved him. They made a film of it called The Lost Prince. V. sad. The only thing putting me off seeing WE is that Madonna directed it - eek!I haven't read that book though. Will have a look. xxx

I have also read and watched alot about Mrs Simpson,
I find her fascinating but think we ended up with the better monarch in the end. Madonna puts me off as well though.

I'm sure I have a copy of the mini-series with Edward Fox as Edward - it was fabulous... if I find it you're welcome to it if you'd like it, it's rather wonderful

I am looking forward to seeing this new film though
